Disaster Occurs as Accidental Explosion at Law Enforcement Facility in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Claims Nine Deaths
A devastating blast at a law enforcement facility in the Kashmir region under Indian control has caused the fatalities of nine individuals and injuries to thirty-two more, according to authority reports.
The event happened when a collection of impounded blast substances accidentally blew up during management operations.

The detonation took place on Friday night at the Nowgam security post, where blast substances seized from Faridabad region in the northern state of Haryana province were being kept briefly.
Regional security director stated that the explosives were awaiting technical investigation when a "extremely tragic" mishap during processing led to their blast at approximately 11:20 PM local.
Authority Declarations
Security forces asserted that this was an "unintentional explosion" and not a militant action. "Any other speculation regarding the reason of this occurrence is unwarranted," stressed the security director during a journalist meeting.
The law enforcement facility suffered extensive destruction from the detonation, with neighboring structures also being impacted by the powerful blast.
Aftermath and Victims
Multiple vehicles were "engulfed in flames and transformed into ashen remains, with debris scattered across the location," according to police accounts.
"The force of the explosion was such that some human remains were found in close-by residences, approximately between 100 and 200 meters from the law enforcement facility," stated an police contact.
The bulk of the victims were security officials, along with technical investigation team, two investigative imaging experts, and a tailor who was accompanying the group.
Authority Reaction
The area's Administrative Head stated sympathies and declared that an investigation had been ordered into the tragic incident.
"I have commissioned a probe to establish the reason of the inadvertent detonation. Deeply anguished by the fatalities of important persons due to profoundly sorrowful inadvertent detonation at Nowgam security post in the Srinagar area. My commiserations to the grieving relatives. I pray for speedy recovery of the harmed," expressed the official on digital platforms.
