Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is uncertain and the United States has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Additional Developments
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
